Who we are

Velaris Co. (“Velaris”, “we”, “our”) is a private advisory company incorporated in Portugal, based in Lisbon. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Contact: jorge.rolis@velaris-co.com.

Information we collect

We collect information in the following categories.

• —Contact details you give us: name, company, email address, phone number and the content of your message, when you use the contact form, an intake form, or write to us directly.
• —Mandate information you choose to share: investment preferences, the assets you are buying, selling or raising for, and related commercial details, so that we can assess fit and make introductions.
• —Professional information about you and your firm that is publicly available or shared with us in the course of our work, including through the R² Exchange network we co-host.
• —Technical data generated when you visit this site, such as IP address, browser and device type, held in our hosting provider’s server logs.

This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. It sets no cookies of its own.

How we use your information

• —To respond to your enquiry and assess whether we can help.
• —To originate, vet and match opportunities, and to make introductions between parties with your knowledge.
• —To organise invitation-only events such as the Sports & Capital Dinner series, including guest approval.
• —To send you information about opportunities or events you have asked to hear about. You can opt out at any time.
• —To maintain our records, protect our rights and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

We rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR: the steps needed to enter into or perform a contract with you; our legitimate interests in running an advisory practice and a professional network; your consent where we ask for it; and compliance with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only in these limited circumstances.

• —With counterparties, when you ask us to make an introduction or agree to one.
• —With our strategic partners, currently STATUS Branding, Vestible and Athvance Capital, where they co-host an event or are involved in a mandate you are part of.
• —With service providers that process data on our behalf: our web host, our email provider, and Jotform, which receives contact and intake form submissions.
• —Where required by law, regulation or a competent authority, or to protect our rights and safety.
• —In connection with a business transfer, merger or acquisition, under confidentiality.

Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and mandate information are kept for as long as our relationship is active and for up to five years afterwards, unless a longer period is required by law or a dispute is pending. Server logs are retained for a short period for security purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to:

• —Access the personal data we hold about you.
• —Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• —Request deletion of your personal data.
• —Restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing.
• —Receive your data in a portable format.
• —Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing.
• —Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Portugal this is the CNPD, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.

Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be posted on this page.
